Will my husband be allowed to travel with me on my Canadian study visa?

Hi Sharon

I have got admission in a Canada college for the September course.

I have two years old daughter hence would want my husband and daughter to come along with me to Canada.

I understand that my husband would get a dependant visa but my worry is would he be asked to join me later or would he be allowed to travel with me at the same time to Canada?

I can’t decide whether to go ahead for the course or not as I can’t leave my daughter behind.

Pls advice.
Nidhi

Will my husband be allowed to travel with me on my Canadian study visa?

Dear Nidhi

Thanks from your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer).

Congratulations on your admission to a college in Canada for a course starting in September.

However in order to enter Canada you will still need to apply for a student visa.

Please find at the following link the Canadian study permit - application guide

According to the guide "Your family members who also wish to come to Canada must apply by filling out their own temporary residence application (visitor, student or worker). However, you may send all family member application forms in the same envelope with only one payment receipt for the total amount.?

So you can proceed and apply for a visa to Canada for all 3 of you at the same time and hopefully you will get an answer together.

Best of Luck
Sharon
