Which country for study, job opportunity and getting PR at once?

by Fadi
(Dubai, UAE)

Hi Sharon,

This time I would like to ask your opinion and suggestion as u have experienced living in 3 continents.

I am Syrian, living n working for the past 10 years at HR & Admin field in Dubai, looking for the best country where I can study 2 years diploma in IT, getting professional job during and after my schooling and easily getting my PR approved after graduation.

Bellow country has come to my consideration but there are some points that hesitate me to go on:

USA: Employer need to pay big amount annual fee to the government if they want to employ graduated international student and they prefer not to complicate themselves with immigration and visa procedure as a process to appoint a graduate student. Immigration officer more likely reject F1 visa application.

CANADA: Canadian company will not consider any education and professional work experience you got outside Canada. Beside its frightened me to read a lot of immigrant blogs saying they are suffering can’t find professional job there. Doctor who becomes a taxi driver, Phd graduated from Canada who can’t find work and so on.

AUSTRALIA: Having difficult point system to pass. Such as:

- Still asking for 7 point of IELTS in each band even u has graduated there.

- Students are needed to work in relevant field (For example: IT graduate in IT ) to qualify for PR. On the other hand, the Australian migration department restricted Australian ICT companies to not to employ people who do not have PR visa.

- My occupation may be off listed as they usually change the rule every year.

Please advice according your experience which country suit my condition more.

Thanks & regards.
Fadi

Which country for study, job opportunity and getting PR at once?

Dear Fadi

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer).

It seems that you have really done your homework :)

[U.S.A] - You are right it might be hard to find an Employer that agrees to sponsor you for an H1B visa.

However you do have 2 options:

First Option - try to apply for the U.S.A Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery Program.

Click on the above link to find out more information about this visa.

Second option - Some companies will help you find Jobs and Visa Sponsorship with the top Green Cards Employer.

As you know Green Card holders are known as 'Lawful Permanent Residents' of the USA ('Immigrants') and allows you to live and work in the U.S.A

One of these companies is H1B Base . They offer 3 types of services.

The Pro Elite - Premium Plus program is the one that offers Jobs and Visa Sponsorship with the top Green Cards Employer.

Click here for more information about the program.

[Canada] - You can look at the Canadian Provincial Nominees Immigration Program. This program is for persons who have the skills, education and work experience needed to make an immediate economic contribution to the province or territory that nominates them.

Click on the following link to find more information about the Canadian Provincial Nominees Immigration Program

In addition Canada has a great support system for newcomers to Canada. You can search the Service Canada website for more information. Other than that every province has settlement services which are free and can provide you the help you need to adjust to Canada. For example you can search the Ontario Immigration website.

[Australia] - I believe you can try to look into one of the following options :

Skilled Independent (Migrant) Visa (subclass 175) .

Or

Skilled Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (subclass 176).

Although the Australia points system might be a bit scaring, you do not need to have the highest score in order to pass. A mix of high scores and average scores might be enough for you to qualify.

Being an immigrant is not easy, no matter to which country you immigrate. However it can be very rewarding, exciting and full of new opportunities.

Best of Luck
Sharon
