Study Permit to Canada was Refused - What should I do?

by Khal
(Alex / Egy)

Hi Sharon

I have been in Canada as a tourist before, and I never stayed more than the period that was authorized to me which was really short.

More than one college accepted me as a student for a post-grad program – marketing.

I went back to EGY and applied for a study permit.

First time I was refused coz of insufficient funds. It was fair to refuse me for that, but also coz the immigration officer believed that I will not leave Canada after my studies.

Second time I applied I had really good funds and more than what was required. I was refused only because I haven't satisfied the officer that I will leave Canada. I have submitted proves that I have work here and my own place as a home owner.

What it will take to satisfy the immigration officer that I will leave Canada on the right time and even before?

Any help will be highly appreciated,

Create a great day,
Khal

Study Permit to Canada was Refused - What should I do?
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Hi Kahl

Thanks for your inquiry (Please note that I am not an immigration officer).

According to Canada and Immigration you can reapply for a study permit to Canada if your circumstances have changed appreciably and you believe that they would result in a different decision. If, however, there is no change in your situation, then it is unlikely that your application would result in the issuance of a Canadian study permit.

For positive results this time you may want to consider one of the following options:

  1. Hire an immigration representative to assist you with the Canadian Student visa application. Tips on how to choose a representative can be found in here.

  2. Read My Immigration Consultant A Step-By-Step guide on HOW to do and WHAT to do when applying for a Canadian visa including how to prepare for a successful interview at the Canadian Embassy.

Best of Luck
Sharon
