Study Permit and inadmissibility to Canada

by Alana
(Montreal)

Hi Sharon

My question is concerning the people who are inadmissible due to a family member's criminal conviction.

Can the rest of the family members who are not convicted come back to canada on a work permit, study permit or as a investor?

Thanks, Alana

Study Permit and inadmissibility to Canada
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Dear Alana

Thanks for your inquiry (Please note that I am not an immigration officer)
I have searched the Canadian immigration and citizenship website and found information about Overcoming criminal inadmissibility .

However, most of the information refers to the person who was convicted and was inadmissible to Canada.

As regards to family members who were not convicted, I couldn't find any information. Therefore, I suggest that you contact the nearest Canadian Embassy or if you are in Canada, you can contact citizenship and immigration Canada, and ask them for accurate information about this matter.

Best of Luck
Sharon
