by Tarlika Parmar
(Centennial College (progress campus) / Canada)

Hi Sharon

I am currently in Canada on a study permit.

I am married and I want my husband with me. Can you just help me out?

I heard that it is difficult to make a spouse visa.

I am in a Cenetennial College and my course is of 1 year and 3 months. It is a post graduate diploma course in international management.

I have done the BBA from India and I also did MBA and now I am here for further studies.

This is my first semister and I want my husband with me.

Can you just help me out, what can I do?

My husband is in India and he working in a Government job. My mother-in-law is also working in a government job in my home country and my elder brother-in-law is in Australia.

Somebody told me that it is tough to get a spouse visa.

I am a full-time student at Centennial.

could you just help me get out from this situation and give me some guidelines that what can I do further.

Thanking you,
Tarlika Parmar

Spouse Visa to Canada
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Dear Tarlika Parmar

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer).

You have indicated that your course will last 1 year and 3 months and that your spouse has a government job in India, which might help to convince the Canadian immigration officer that he intends to return to India after his visit to Canada.

So I suggest that he apply for a visitor visa to Canada from India. According to Canada citizenship and immigration it takes around 21 days to process a Canadian visitor visa application from Chandigarh/India and 7 days from New delhi/India.

Best of Luck
Sharon
