Returning to the USA from Mexico

I have been in Mexico since August. I have 2 boys - one is 7 yrs and in the first grade, and the other is 15yrs. and currently in 3rd Secundaria (which is 9th grade in the USA).

We are returning to the USA in early August permanently. What do I need to do to prepare for my boys re-entry into the USA school system in Arizona? Are there specific paperwork requirements?

When we came to Mexico... we were required to have transcripts and all school grades with Apostile seels.

I would greatly appreciate feedback. I am wondering if there will be problems with them starting the appropriate grade levels in the fall in the US.

Thanks for your inquiry.

Do you know where you will be living in the Arizona and to which schools your boys will go? If yes than I would suggest that you call the schools and ask them about any special requirements and documents that are needed. This way you will have enough time to prepare the required paperwork and to obtain Apostile seals for them.

If you do not know yet where you will be living in Arizona than the best thing to do is to contact Arizona Department of Education and to request their advice.
