Relocation Free Baggage Allowance - Air Travel

by bipin
(Singapore)

Is anyone aware of an additional allowance given by most airlines for the first travel undertaken after relocating to a new country?

Needless to mention, I am referring to free additional baggage allowance.

Thanks
Bipin

Hi Bipin

Thanks for your inquiry

There is no special luggage allowance for people who are relocating to a new country.

The free baggage allowance of airlines is based on different factors such as size of aircraft cargo compartments, fuel requirements, number of passengers on board, government regulations, destination of flight and type of ticket (first class, economy class, etc').

Each airline has its own regulation regarding free luggage allowance. BA for example allows holders of club Europe tickets to carry 2 bags, with 23 free kgs for each bag. But each passenger can take up to 32kg free of charge as British Airways will waive the heavy bag charge.

So the best way to find out information about free additional baggage allowance is to search the airlines websites.
