Regarding Chances of Getting a Canadian Student Visa for Jan Intake

by ATM

Hello Sharon

I was just surfing through the net regarding the chances of getting a Canadian Student visa rejection and found its pretty high which adds fire in my brain.

I am a Dentist graduated in 2010, now planning to Masters in Administrative science in global health in Vancouver.

What makes me tensed is, I have been rejected US visitors VISA twice. Will it reduce my chances of getting a Canadian visa?

Visa was rejected with form 114, stating that I did not satisfy the councilor, no other reasons. Should I mention this when I apply for a Canadian visa?

I have IELTS 7.5 and gp is 3.5. I am getting a loan of 10 lakh where as as my course fee and living expenses would cost me 20 lakh for 2 years.
I can take a chance with it.

I need a visa.

Please tell me how to make my application strong so that it will not get rejected.

Thank You in Advance
ATM

Regarding Chances of Getting a Canadian Student Visa for Jan Intake
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Dear ATM

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer).

In the Canadian student visa application you are requested to provide only details regarding visa refusal to Canada. So unless you are specifically asked, there is no need to mention that you have been refused a visitor visa to the U.S.A.

Approval of a student visa application cannot be guaranteed as each visa application is assessed on its own merit.
However the most common reasons for a visa refusal are the following:

  1. You have not shown proof that you have enough money to support yourself while studying in Canada.

  2. You have not passed the medical examination if one was required.

  3. You have not satisfied the visa officer that your primary intention in Canada is to study.

  4. You have not satisfied the visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your period of study.

  5. The course you have chose is not relevant/related to your older studies.

In the following link you can find more information about Canadian visa application refusal.

I would therefore suggest that you go over all the reasons for refusal and work on how you can convince the immigration officer that none of them is related to your case.

Best of Luck
Sharon
