Moving to Canada with 2 teenagers - What should I expect?

by Didar Singh
(Batala,Punjab, India)

Dear Sharon

I am going to apply for Canada immigration.

My elder son is studying in the 10th grade and my younger is in grade 8 (Academic session Mar 2011-Apr 2012).

I would like to know if I get the PR to Canada in time what is the future for my sons in Canada.

Thanks
Didar Singh

Moving to Canada with 2 teenagers - What should I expect?
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Dear Didar Singh

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer).

You can find information about starting your new life in Canada and especially about the education system in Canada at the following links:

Service Canada - Services for newcomers to Canada.

How to get the help you need to settle in Canada and about education in Canada.

You did not mention to which province in Canada you will be moving. However you can find in here a link to the Newcomer's guide to secondary school in Ontario. The guide describes what you can expect when your sons start school and suggests some ways to get ready.

Best of Luck
Sharon
