Hi Sharon

I am a 15 years old texan girl that lives in israel 8 years and now im moving back to the U.S

Will I have trouble with school language, and what are the stuff I need to do before going into high school?

Thanks for your inquiry.

Moving back to your home country can be daunting especially after 8 years of being away.

If you already know to which High School you will be going then you or your parents can contact the school and inform them about your moving back to the USA.

Ask them to send you the curriculum and find out what is being taught. It is also advisable to check what material do they cover in math and if it is similar to the material you covered in Israel. If not then maybe you can take some private lessons to catch up.

You can ask to meet with the school's advisory to speak about your concerns. It is also good to check if the school offers a special program for kids moving back to the U.S.A

As regards to English language proficiency - Although your English language might not be at the same level as those of your peers in the U.S.A, it is your mother tongue and I am sure you will gain confidence in the English language really fast.

But if you feel that you want to strengthen your English language capabilities then you can check if the school offers an English Language learners program.
