International divorce - husband overseas, I'm in the US

Hi Sharon

Can my husband file for a divorce while claiming residency in Malaysia, while I claim residency in the USA?

If he files from Malaysia will I be required to travel there or can I request jurisdiction to be moved to my home state as his company pays for his travel?

Also if he files in the US before I file, will he loose his expat status?

These issues are often extremely complex and confusing, even to lawyers are very familiar with the laws of their local jurisdiction."

Therefore I would strongly recommend that you find an international lawyer who can guide you to the best decision and then take you through the entire process.

Someone that has international experience and connections, and that can provide you with appropriate advice and strong, effective representation.
