How to Request a Police Certificate to Canada?

by Anonymous
(Israel)

Hi Mam,

I have received the approval letter from the Canadian Embassy.

One of the requirement is to provide police clearance from the country where I live for more than 6 months. So I went to Israel embassy since this is were I work and live for 1 year. The officer told me that I need to get a request letter from the Canadian embassy, then submit it to the Israeli embassy.

But how should I do that? should I submit all the documents that the Canadian embassy requested me to submit like Birth Certificate, Marriage Cert, Diploma and wait for their response letter.

Does the Canadian embassy normally send a request for police certificate to the country were the applicant live or work?

Hope to hear your response

Thanks

How to Request a Police Certificate to Canada?
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Hi

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that I am not an immigration Officer

What you need to do is as follows:

1. Show the Israeli Embassy the letter you received from the Canadian Embassy where you were requested to provide a police certificate from each country you lived in for more than 6 months.

This is the letter that the Israeli Embassy needs to see.

2. You can submit all the documents you have - Birth Certificate, Marriage Cert, Diploma etc' to the Canadian Embassy, and indicate that you have requested a police certificate from the Israeli Embassy. Usually the Israeli Embassy will send the police certificate directly to the Canadian Embassy.

I hope this helps

Good Luck
Sharon
