How to Bring an Aged Mother and Disabled Sister to Australia?

by RM
(Melbourne ,Vic Australia)

Hi Sharon

I am an Australian citizen, I have my mother 78 years old and a disabled sister 37 years old.

They were resettled in USA with Green Card on 2008.

How can I resettle them to Australia to take care of them?

Is there any immigration visa category to bring them?

Thanks, RM

Hi RM

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not an immigration officer.

You did not indicate what citizenships other than U.S.A citizenships do your mother and sister holds.

Anyway you can start by watching the video about coming to Australia that was published on youtube by Australian citizenship and immigration department. The short video contains lots of tips and advice on how to apply for a visa to Australia

In addition you can look at the family visa migration to Australia information. There is a visa for aged parent and for remaining relative visa.

You can check with the Australian immigration department if these types of visas can work for your mother and sister.

Best of Luck
Sharon
