Hi

I'm curious if any of you have taken the FSOT (Foreign Service Officer Test) State Department exam?

What was it like? Difficult?

Hi Sonia

Thanks for your e-mail.

None of us have taken the FSOT State Department Exam.

However, I know about a couple of study guides that can assist with the preparation.

FSOT Flashcard Study System

FSOT Secrets Study Guide

I hope this helps.

If any of you have more information please do share with us and with Sonia

State Dept Exam

I took the exam right after graduating with a gruelling degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution - and was pretty surprised at how hard the exam was (thinking my major would have prepared me).

Definitely study a lot of Geography (especially as pertains to current diplomatic issues), US Government (to include Committees, Budget, Electoral Processes) and get a general overview of US History, Classical Literature, and Managerial Processes. Hope that helps!
