Flying with pet in plane cabin to France.......

by Jody
(California, USA)

We are flying with our small dog on Air France who will be in the cabin with us to France.

The restriction for the dog is that the maximum weight in the carrier is 13lbs.

My question is what if she is a few ounces over ?

Does the airline refuse to let us on the flight or do we just have to pay for the extra weight ?

Thank you !!

Flying with pet in plane cabin to France

Dear Jody

Thanks for your inquiry (please note that I am not a pet international relocation specialist).

According to Air-France's transporting pets in cabin regulations Your dog + carrier should weight together up to 13.2 LBS to be allowed to transport it in the cabin.

Dogs weighting more than 13.2 lbs must be transported in the hold.

So you might be asked to put your dog in the luggage area of the plane.

I would suggest that you call the airline directly to check this matter. This way you won't have unpleasant surprises

Best of Luck
Sharon
