Please note that I am not an immigration officer

Before you apply for a study visa to Canada you must have a valid acceptance letter from a University in Canada. Without this letter a study permit will not be issued to you.

In addition you should take into consideration that medical examinations are usually required for students from India. This will add a minimum of two weeks to the processing of your application.

As regards to your spouse - if you wish your spouse to accompany you to Canada you will be required to provide evidence that you and your spouse have enough money to pay for tuition fees, books, living expenses and return tickets to India.

Your spouse will also be required to demonstrate to a visa officer that he/she has sufficient ties to India to ensure his/her departure from Canada.
