Working in Canada as a Male Nurse
by: Sharon - Expats Guide

Hi Demoharsh

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that I am not an immigration officer.

The best way to begin the process of finding out if you can work as a nurse in Canada is to get your foreign credentials recognized. Nursing is considered a regulated occupation in Canada, so it is most important that you follow the Canadian regulator's authority's requirements.

You may also be required to have a specific number of recent hours of nursing work experience.

You have indicated that you have no experience. In this case you can check if there are 'bridging programs' for which you may be qualified. A bridging program offers work experience or skills or language upgrading courses to assist internationally trained individuals in their progress toward professional certification

More information about bridging programs can be found in here.

Best of Luck
Sharon
